Character
Who will give a home to a dog with a heart-shaped nose and a big heart?
Born c. 2018 and 28kg, Tobi used to be something of a local personality in a small Serbian town.
He was the stray the locals always liked seeing around: a lovely looking chap with one of those kind, sleepy faces you see on Posovac Hounds, and always, always friendly. ‘A sweet, gentle soul, who loves everything and everyone.’
Tobi was even built a makeshift shelter in which to live (you can see him looking rather proud of it in one of his photos).
But one day Tobi was scared by a firework and ran in panic onto the street. He was hit by a car, hurt badly and left completely blind. Our rescuer heard about it - the town was posting about it on social media - and took him to the vet.
Tobi’s examination confirmed his blindness and showed he also had some older injuries - a front leg had sustained damage some time before the accident, making surgery impossible.
But now Tobi is well adapted to his blindness, and his limp has improved markedly. Although his rescue video shows him limping out from behind a car, but his recent videos show he walks well and with only minor impediment.
Still, Tobi is a gentle chap who just needs moderate, short walks and a bit of sniffing and pottering around. He’s very relaxed about life, not asking for much, but enjoying every sniff.
Tobi now lives in a private shelter, where he is safe and well looked after, but his rescuer would love him to have a family of his own. ‘All he needs is love’, she says.
Tobi is good with dogs and cats and loves all people.
Like all blind dogs, he will need careful, respectful introductions in order to get his bearings and not be alarmed. And, like older (and especially blind dogs), he likes dogs like himself - the calm, respectful kind.
Tobi could also be an only dog.
Tobi wears a collar and walks nicely on a lead as you can see in his videos. He may need a little more training but is very cooperative.
Tobi currently lives outside, sharing a kennel and outdoor space with another dog, but comes into the shelter owner’s home at night in the colder months. He has always been clean indoors on those occasions but would need some further training and patience getting used to living in a home.
Who will give Tobi the happy ending that's written on his nose?

Type of Home Sought
Tobi can live with another calm (and possibly senior) dog or as an only dog.
Although he has not lived with cats as such, he has been successfully cat tested.
He would love a garden to potter around in, a short walk or two somewhere not too noisy or frenetic, and lots of love from his forever human(s).
