Teddy

This dear little scruff is called Teddy.  An adorable, partially sighted teddy bear of about 8 years and 6 kilos. He is fostered in Romania.

Teddy was found in a ditch in June. He wasn’t moving when his rescuer found him; he was in poor condition with a very matted coat.

Taken immediately to the vet, it was discovered that Teddy was blind in one eye due to the damage caused by a prickly plant.  One of the plant’s spikes or thorns was removed from his other eye, luckily saving him some vision.  His coat was shaved to remove all the matts, revealing what a tiny little dog he is.

Teddy moved into a foster home and received lots of love and care. Initially he was shy, quiet and not very energetic. But as time has passed, he has gained confidence and begun to show his sweet character. Teddy is a darling boy.  He is good with people and enjoys a gentle stroke.

Teddy has also shown he is happy to wear a collar and lead, although he will need some further training in this respect.  He is used to living indoors but like any dog settling into a new home, will need patience and love with new places and routines.

Teddy lives with other small dogs and cats in his foster home and lives happily with both.  

Now that Teddy’s coat has grown back; he looks irresistible… puppy eyes, sweet little face and curly patchwork coat.  Who wouldn’t want this little chap as a loving companion?
