Character

Sasha the smiling hound, born October 2025, blind, slim at 13kg and in foster in Bosnia, is waiting to bring joy to her new home.

As a young pup, Sasha was thrown out of a car with no numberplate in the city of Mostar.  It is likely she was abandoned due to her blindness.

After wandering around and trying to fend for herself, Sasha had the immense luck to be spotted and rescued. She now lives with her rescuer and 20 other rescued dogs and cats.

Sasha has been vet checked, she was born with Microphthalmia (underdeveloped eyes) so she is blind, but apart from that she is in good health.  Sasha has been neutered and is on the slim side at 13kgs. The vet can find no medical reason for this and she is on special food to try and help her gain weight.

Sasha is described as playful, cheerful and curious. The happiest of hounds, she loves everyone. Her rescuer says “she jumps up to give kisses to everyone we meet.”  She loves having a fuss and lots of cuddles. She enjoys the company of people and stays close to the baby stroller when the baby is around.

Sasha learns quickly and soon mapped out the house. She loves being outside, she does come into the house but is worried by tiled floors.  When it rains she is brought inside or put in a large fenced enclosure. She loves the rain and would happily run around and continue playing. In fact she loves water and jumps into the dog pool when she can. That’s Sasha – she loves life!

Sasha happily lives with the 20 other rescued animals and being young is active and loves to investigate and play; like any young dog she will be looking for a playful and fun filled new life.. preferably with water included!

Sasha can wear a collar but doesn’t like it too tight. Her rescuer is teaching her to wear a harness and to walk on a lead, but she will require further lead training.

Sasha is a happy easy going dog. With her gorgeous patchwork coat, gangly legs and velvet floppy ears, this beautiful girl always looks like has a smile on her face. With her sunny disposition, she’s likely to give you lots of smiles too.

Whilst loved and looked after, her rescuer contacted BDRUK in the hope that she could find a better home in the UK. Can you help Sasha find her family?
