Character

Some of you may remember Nala (was 'Bella', born 2023, 11kg).  She was adopted in 2025 and brought incredible joy to her new family.  She settled well and was much loved, but over time decided she didn't get on with one of the other resident dogs, a smaller female.   Sadly for everyone, we are now looking for a new home for Nala.

Nala can live with other dogs, but they need to be larger than her.

Nala was the pet project of one of the Serbian rescuers - nursed back to health after being plucked from a kill shelter. They put a lot of work into her in the hope that her pretty face and sweet nature would get her a home here in the UK.

Nala was shy initially, but she’s thriving now. Despite looking like a dainty girl, she’s a resilient survivor, happy and healthy. As a consequence of her ill health she lost some sight in both eyes, but she’s not letting that hold her back. Nala has been to see a specialist vet and has been diagnosed with dry eye. She has some corneal scarring and is now receiving eye drops to and minimise any further issues developing.

Due to her weak eyesight, Nala can sometimes be a little bit timid, and may take time to settle into her new home.  Once settled, she reacts very well to people and enjoys their company and a cuddle.

Nala adapted very quickly to living in a home environment and is house trained. She enjoys taking naps and relaxing in her bed and has a medium to low energy level, playing gently when the mood takes her.

Nala shares her current home with two other dogs, the smaller of which she does not get on with.  Previously, she lived with lots of dogs and got on well. It is not known how she is with cats.

Nala was so close to having a perfect home, and we are really sad it hasn't worked out for her where she is.  She is a lovely dog and just finding a home with the right dog companions (or as an only dog) is all she needs.
