Sweet Mile: the dog who always makes us smile!
Born 2025, 15kg, fully sighted, and in outside foster in Serbia, Mile came to our attention because he had suffered incredible cruelty.
However, his exuberance and zest for life just reminds us how resilient and perfect dogs are.
Mile was discovered in a forest in Serbia. His rescuer heard crying and found him with a rope tied so tight around his neck that he had an open wound from its abrasions.
It is unclear whether whoever abandoned him had attempted to kill him violently, or whether he had been tethered and left to perish. Either way, veterinary attention confirmed that most likely Mile had spent his life tethered and restricted. You can see the imprint in some of the videos.
Safe in a friendly neighbour’s garden, Mile was initially cautious and rarely wanted to leave his kennel.
And yet he began to trust his kind people, he let his puppyish curiosity overcome his fear, he started to run in the back yard and became a joyful, lively young pup who loves to cuddle and eat from your hand.
Mile is very energetic, curious, delighted to explore his surroundings and always ready to play. As he spends a lot of time alone, he cannot contain his excitement and zooms around when he has company.
With more consistent stimulation and training, Mile will calm of course, but nonetheless we are looking for a home for Mile who will commit to giving him a good level of exercise and mental stimulation.
Mile is good with other dogs, is lovely with children, and has met a kitten briefly without showing any aggression. A more conclusive cat test can be provided on request.
Mile’s new home will need to be ready for a dog that needs training from scratch. Mile has never lived in a house so will need basic training and lots of patience as he adapts to his new life. We are looking for a home ready to commit to this and support Mile as he has lots to learn.
Mile has worn a collar but as yet had not had experience of walking on lead. In due course his rescuers hope to introduce him to this, but he will need further training on arrival.
Whoever adopts this little lad will have their hands full… with joy!
