Character
Meet Medeni, born c.2022, c12kg and currently living in a private shelter in Serbia. Medeni has a story that could have broken his spirit, but instead, it has made him shine even brighter.
Medeni was found on the streets after being hit by a car, and thanks to a kind rescuer, he got the care he desperately needed. Whilst he’s now fully recovered from the resulting paw injury, X-rays revealed something far more heartbreaking: Medeni carries multiple embedded pellets in his head and neck area, evidence of past cruelties. Sadly, this has left him blind in one eye, but the pellets do not appear to be causing any other detrimental effects.
Despite everything he’s endured, Medeni is an affectionate, trusting boy who adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs.
Medeni (also sometimes called 'Medenko') has a balanced energy level. He enjoys a walk and would like a garden to potter around in; he is used to wearing a collar and is getting the hang of walking on a lead, which is a new experience for him. Consistent, patient and kind guidance will need to be continued in his new home.
With his sweet nature, we feel that this little chap would fit into most households and could live with other dogs or be a single dog. We don’t think Medeni has lived in a home before so any adopter would need to be prepared to help him adjust to home living; with time and patience, this bright boy should be a quick learner.
And his looks? Absolutely irresistible. Medeni sports a thick black coat, perfectly accented by tiny white “socks” that appear as if he’s cheekily dipped his paws into a paint pot. He carries his fluffy tail curled proudly over his back, and his broad, joyful smile shows a readiness to form new and loving bonds.
His name means 'Honey' in Serbian and it couldn’t suit him better; his sweet nature and cheerful spirit shine through, even after all he’s endured. Truly, Medeni is a very special little dog who will be a wonderful companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

Type of Home Sought
From the information given by his rescuer, it seems that Medeni is an adaptable and kind little dog who would fit into most types of households; we think he’d probably like access to an outdoor area to mooch about in.
He will require kindness, patience and guidance while he learns all about living in his very own home, but he’s a bright boy who is keen to please.
He has not been cat tested but can live happily with other dogs or on his own.
