Have you ever seen a dog with a more expressive face?! Shaggy boy Marley, (blind, born 2020, 30kgs and currently in foster in Serbia), has many looks - you can see here his thoughtful, his slightly grumpy, and his special puppy dog that he hopes might get him a home….
Marley was found some months ago, struggling to survive as a blind dog on the streets. Emaciated and starving (as can be seen in some of his photos) he was taken into temporary care. Despite his lovely nature, no one offered him a home and he was in danger of being returned to the street. Luckily a local rescuer became aware of his plight and stepped forward to ensure his safety and contacted BDRUK for help.
Marley has seen a veterinary ophthalmologist who explained that his blindness is due to degenerative changes in the optic nerve and retina. Marley also has cataracts in both eyes. He has had a thorough vet check including his teeth, heart and lameness with no issues found. The vet noted he is bright, alert and responsive. He is due to be neutered soon.
Marley is now in a foster home and has settled in beautifully. He’s an easy boy, with a gentle temperament. He is good with people and enjoys a cuddle and was friendly when meeting his new foster people for the first time. His rescuer says he is a good boy, but notes that one time a stranger approached him from behind and touched him, Marley was startled and gave a little growl. Marley is a gentle boy, with a confident step that he uses to nose around; snow white shaggy fur, brown speckled ears and happy waggy tail. And, of course, his wonderful face!
Marley isn’t an energetic dog and is described as “calm and composed”. He enjoys mooching round the garden. He may bump into a wall occasionally but that doesn’t faze him. He’s happy to go out for a little walk and walks nicely on a lead. It is possible he was once someone’s companion.
Marley is good with other dogs, mixing calming with them in the back yard. He travelled well in the car to his foster home with another dog. Is it not known how he is with cats, but a cat test may be possible on request.
His rescuer says that Marley is a happy, wonderful dog and deserves a wonderful family.
And that’s what we are looking for - somewhere where he is loved; somewhere with a soft bed to curl up on to safely sleep and dream… and maybe someone who is will enjoy his wonderful repertoire of expressions!

Type of Home Sought
Marley is looking for a loving home with a garden where he can amble around. With people who have time for him, to take him on gentle walks and are happy to sit with him. With someone who will give him safety and security, and allow him time to settle into UK life.
