May we introduce you to Lina the heart stealer? Found abandoned in Bulgaria with a broken leg, it became apparent soon after rescue that Lina was nearly blind. However, it took some time for anyone to learn that Lina also had a secret. She is completely deaf.
Lina copes so well, goofing around, paying attention to people, learning to walk on a lead, even becoming the vet’s favourite for being a perfect patient when she went in for her leg operation… it didn’t seem possible that Lina couldn’t hear. Her deafness was only discovered when she went into boarding kennels. And it’s still a secret she keeps very convincingly.
Born around 2023 and weighing 19kg, fully recovered from surgery, active and mobile, Lina is due to be neutered and is ready for a home.
Lina’s blindness is congenital. It is thought she can see shapes and shadows. Her limited vision doesn’t bother her; Lina has fast orientation and happily runs around playing with other dogs. The source of her deafness is unknown but watch her videos and you’ll see how little it seems to matter.
Lina loves a gentle stroke from her people. Like any blind dog, she approaches new people with initial caution but is brave and smart and closely follows her people once she trusts. Lina is a happy dog, prancing around with curiosity and joy and often sporting a waggy tail.
Lina has classic doggy good looks too: flop ears, sensitive face, elegant dapple legs and a beauty spot on her bottom.
Lina has adapted very well to her routine at the boarding facility. She can wear a collar and walk on a lead. After walks, she returns to her kennel on her own. Lina walks nicely on a lead (although some further training is required) and pays close attention to the person handling her.
Lina is good with other dogs, although due to her restricted sight and hearing she may be startled when first meeting them. She hasn’t had the opportunity to meet cats.
“Once you meet her… you'll never forget her.” That’s what Lina’s rescuers says about her. An extra special girl.

Lina is looking for a loving home - on her wish list is easy access to a garden and a dog friend to keep her company and run around with.
Due to her limited sight and deafness Lina is looking for a calm adult home, ideally with some experience or willingness and patience to support a special dog like her.
Lina has never had the good fortune of a living in a home, so she is looking for understanding Adopter(s) who are happy to provide training and guidance while she settles into her new life.
