Character

**FULLY SIGHTED**

What do you think might be the attributes of a ‘perfect’ dog...? A big smiley friendly face, a waggy tail, lovely natured, loves people, good with other dogs, walks nicely on lead, likes a walk but doesn’t need loads of exercise… and maybe looks a bit like a black labrador?

Well, if that’s your idea of perfect, you must meet Keti.

Keti (pronounced ‘Cathy’) is FULLY SIGHTED, about 4 years old and weighs 22kg. She is neutered and lives in a private shelter in Serbia with 20 other dogs.

Keti looks a bit like a black labrador from the front but has a rather adorable barrel-shaped body and cute shorter legs. She is a total sweetheart; ‘a wonderful character, very calm’, her rescuer says.

Keti’s rescuer asked for our help because, although Keti is a fully sighted dog, she is constantly overlooked in her native Serbia. ‘Nobody here likes normal black dogs over 2 years old’, she says.

Keti grew up on the street. She was found trembling after a traumatic experience (we don’t know what exactly) and given love, a home and veterinary care by her rescuer. Keti soon blossomed into a healthy, lovely, friendly dog; a perfect pet.

Although Keti currently lives in a shelter, she lived in a foster home when first rescued.

She behaved very well indoors and lives easily in a home environment. Even her current shelter is ‘home-style’, where she spends time indoors and out.

Keti is experienced at walking on lead and is very well behaved. She is a smart dog and picked that up quickly.

Keti likes her walks and would enjoy keeping you company out and about, but she isn’t a very energetic dog, happy to potter along.

Keti’s rescuer says, ‘She has absolutely no behavioural issues. She is also used to being around other dogs and is not pushy at all. Overall, she is truly a wonderful dog.’

‘I would like some gentle people to take good care of her to the rest of her life.’

Gentle, sweet Keti has never been anyone’s dog. Could that be about to change?

Type of Home Sought

Although Keti is a gentle sweet girl with experience of living in a home, she will still need patience and kindness as she settles into her new home.

Kind, gentle people for a kind gentle dog.

Keti can live with other dogs. It is unknown how she is with cats.
