Hobbs
Character
Born in 2021, and fostered in Hampshire, Hobbs is a 24kg white cuddle-monster with one eye.
It’s easy to fall in love with Hobbs. He’s totally human-centric; loves everyone and has been lovely with children. Hobbs is incredibly affectionate and is always asking for snuggles. His face is naturally smiley, he’s got a big black nose, and his ears are ridiculously soft: he likes moving them around into different angles and positions.
Hobbs is housetrained, crate-trained, sleeps through the night, responds to his name, is non-destructive, can be left alone, learns quickly, travels well, doesn’t counter surf… he even eats his greens. The feeling you have with Hobbs is that he’s so grateful to be sharing a home with you…you can almost see how much he wants to give love and thanks and be a good boy.
Hobbs is a clever chap – we expect there might be Shepherd type in his breed mix. He is an adventurous spirit too; inquisitive and excited to explore out on his walks. He loves a sniff, loves to play, and would probably be up for some agility training too.
Hobbs lost an eye due to being badly beaten as a puppy. Perhaps that is why he can be nervous and reactive outside the home. Hobbs has learnt to walk nicely on lead, but currently reacts to other passing dogs and some other noises or triggers. Because he is a strong and agile dog, it is essential his new owner can manage him physically. We have seen his reactivity improve considerably in foster care over time, but Hobbs is a work-in-progress outdoors and we are looking for adopters who are prepared to put the time into continuing his training.
Hobbs is looking for a calm, kind and understanding person or family who are interested in helping him overcome his anxiety and who will shower him with love. Anyone who meets him thinks he’s more than worth the effort; he’s already pretty much perfect in the home.
A clever, affectionate boy with an adorable wonky face who is willing to learn and desperate to please.

Type of Home Sought
Hobbs has lived with other dogs and is currently living with another female dog. He likes a playmate, but Hobbs would also be perfectly happy as an only dog, as he’s human-centric above all. Hobbs needs a good walk or run around everyday. He would love a garden or other safe space he can zoom around in, and ideally he would prefer a quieter, rural home.
Our adoption donation is £325. This includes travel to the UK, their vaccinations, pet passport, microchip and all preparation for travel. They also come with 5 weeks free insurance (excluding The Channel Isles & Isle of Man).
