Character
Gorgeous partially sighted Cassie is a true-to-type bouncy light golden Golden Retreiver, born in the UK on 14 June 2024 and fostered in Yorkshire.
Cassie has bilateral cataracts. The vet has confirmed that the right eye is more advanced than the one on the left and suggested the right eye could be a candidate for surgery. However, with partial sight she enjoys a wonderful, active life and is looking for a home who can give her lots of fun outdoors and continue her training.
Cassie lives with other dogs and enjoys their company - her best friend is a Jack Russell. She has not been cat tested.
Cassie loves to be free when walking in the fields, playing with other dogs and is a real water baby. She loves to greet everyone she meets. She sometimes does like to dig, but this is becoming a less frequent behaviour.
Except for her particular friends, she always submits to every dog she meets, lying down either on her front or her back. She has never been heard to bark at another dog, even when they bark at her. Cassie loves to play with balls and run for sticks. She loves to learn and has recently been introduced to the game of finding things indoors.
Sometimes it's been a struggle getting her out of rivers and streams, but her recall is improving all the time. Also, sometimes if she doesn't want to end the walk, she tends to lie down for a while or rag on the lead. Otherwise she's very well behaved: a real light golden treasure!
Cassie has been spayed. She has a slightly delicate tummy and avoids wheat, chicken, sausages and sardines.
Please note - we do not rehome dogs to families with children under the age of 10.
Type of Home Sought
Cassie can live with other dogs. It is not known how she is with cats.
She needs an active home, and one that will commit to her ongoing training.
