Gorgeous hound boy Ben loves everyone and everything!
Born blind in Greece in October 2025, Ben is now settling into his foster home in Worcestershire.
Ben is small for his type - only 18kg fully grown - and with all the sweetness and goofiness of a puppy.
Ben is looking for a home to continue his training and receive his very many cuddles and kisses.
Ben has been examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist who has confirmed that Ben’s blindness is congenital and that he will never be able to see. But as Ben has never known life any other way, he is a normal, high-energy puppy who has no idea he has a disability.
Ben loves his walks, loves being outdoors, loves meeting people and adores human affection.
Ben currently lives as an only dog but has sought the company of others out on walks and at the vet’s both in Greece and in the UK. Like any blind dog, there can be a natural wariness on first meeting, but this is soon followed by friendliness and underwritten by a strong natural desire to be in the company of other animals.
Ben lives with 5 indoor cats currently and cohabited perfectly with cats in Greece. His UK fosterer says that his puppyish enthusiasm means he can be overly friendly and that consequently Ben is best living with cats who are dog savvy.
Ben flourishes with human affection. “He is a total cuddle bug who would happily stay in your arms for hours”, said his Greek foster family, and his UK fosterer confirms he loves to kiss - a ‘fuss pot’ who adores everyone; such a joyful, gentle soul.
Ben walks very nicely on lead (as shown in his video). He currently has two short walks a day but like many hounds, prefers pottering and sniffing to power walking! Ben is also frequently distracted by wanting to say hello to everyone he smells!
Ben spent a lot of time outdoors in Greece and often seems at his most relaxed there. Inside, he is more sensitive and nervous, sometimes not settling. It is here that behaviours like jumping up and grabbing things are more noticeable.
Ben is something of a puppy in an adult body and with some residual puppy behaviours such as nipping or grabbing his fosterer’s arm (affectionately but annoyingly, and inappropriately for an adult dog). Ben still needs work on learning to disengage when he is instructed, and his new family will need to continue his training in this respect.
But in most aspects of domestic training, Ben is settling well and showing good progress:
Ben is progressing well with crate training.
Ben sleeps through the night, waking early.
Ben can happily be left for a few hours on his own.
Ben’s housetraining was already perfect when he arrived in UK foster - he soon learnt the location of the doors and sweetly rubs his paw on them when he needs to go out.
Ben is quick to learn and has already learnt cues like ‘step’ when he is out on walks.
He is progressing well with traveling in a crate in the car.
Ben likes calm activities like licki mats, kongs and puzzles.
Like any puppy, Ben needs someone to continue the training, boundaries, and routines and that he is getting in his foster home.
Ben is looking for patience, kindness, and fun. People who are ready to guide a blind puppy through life with love and consistency.

Type of Home Sought
Ben is looking for a loving home with a garden where he can run play, sniff and chill. Ben likes to spend time outdoors so a larger garden would be ideal.
As Ben comes alive with his people, we are looking for a home where he can enjoy the company of his people most of the time.
Ben would be very happy to live with other animals.
His Adopter(s) will need to allow him time to settle and provide training/guidance while he learns all about UK life.
Ben will need to be neutered when an appropriate age and this will be at the adopter’s expense.
