Character

“He is a total cuddle bug who would happily stay in your arms for hours if you let him.”

Meet adorable Ben, who loves everyone. A beautiful blind boy born October 2025, Ben weighs 17kgs and is currently in foster in Greece.

Ben was born blind - he has been examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist who has confirmed Ben will never be able to see.

But Ben has never known life any other way and loves his life. He is a playful boy with a high energy level expected for his young age. He is full of puppy play and enjoys exploring his fosterer’s large garden.

Ben is beautiful with his black and tan colouring and lovely floppy ears. His spotty eyebrows give him a slightly quizzical expression, with the splash of pink on his nose – this boy just melts your heart.

Ben is described as “very sweet, wants to be with people, loves all animals and seeks their company.” He lives with several cats and has been wonderful with them. He is so gentle and patient that he even lets them share his food.

Although he doesn’t live with dogs, Ben was excited to meet the other dogs at the vet clinic. He was very affectionate and sought their contact by rubbing up against them. His foster carers says “he is truly wonderful with all animals, and I really hope he finds a companion of his own soon."

Ben is people-oriented; his world revolves around human affection. He craves and flourishes in company with people and other animals. He is used to living in a home environment and has been on a lead, but going for a walk maybe a new experience for him so guidance maybe needed in this area.   However, Ben is an easy-going boy who is clever and learns very fast.

Ben has not been neutered yet due to his age.

Ben is described as gentle, cooperative and trusting. He is extremely affectionate, social, and calm.

His carers say Ben is a truly unique boy, a sweet, young soul just looking for his forever sofa and a family to love. Someone patient, kind, and ready to guide a blind puppy through life with love and consistency.

Type of Home Sought

Ben is looking for a loving home with a garden where he can run and play. With people who would be happy to spend time with him. He would be happy to live with other animals as he is very sociable.

His Adopter(s) will need to allow him time to settle and provide training/guidance while he learns all about UK life.

Ben will need to be neutered when an appropriate age and this will be at the adopter’s expense.

Please read about our Adoption process. We really appreciate it when potential adopters have read our advice, and these are the people who are most often successful at application stage! https://www.bdruk.org/rehome

Our adoption donation is £350. This includes travel to the UK, their vaccinations, pet passport, microchip and all preparation for travel. They also come with 5 weeks free insurance (excluding The Channel Isles & Isle of Man).
