Character
‘She had been in a public shelter her whole life, crying all the time and begging for attention... I took her because I found out about her by chance.’
Meet Miss Bella. Born 2016, she is 35cms tall, about 10kgs and partially sighted. Bella is neutered and currently in foster in Romania.
Finally, after years of being stuck in a public shelter this little old lady’s luck has changed. She was in a dreadful condition with matted hair and had been in the same kennel for many years; almost all her adult life. Since she left the public shelter and had a makeover, she has gradually turned into a joyous, bouncy, happy dog.
Bella is in good health, but is thought to have cataracts, so is partially sighted. That doesn’t stop her enjoying her new life. Initially she can be shy, but once she gets to know people and other pets she relaxes, wagging her tail and even indulging in a little play with the other dogs.
Bella is good with other dogs. She is currently living in a home with other small sized dogs and mixes with larger dogs in the courtyard. She also lives with 10 cats and has two cat friends who come to visit her.
Bella is very friendly with everyone who visits. She accepts a collar and lead and has had a few walks, but further lead training would be required. Bella had a big fluffy coat when she was in the public shelter, so is likely to have a grooming requirement when her hair has grown back.
She is a calm, playful lady, but is not highly energetic. She likes to watch and join the other dogs sniffing around the courtyard. Bella doesn’t need long walks, a short daily walk would suffice.
Of course, for all those years that she lived in a kennel, she had no name. But we think ‘Bella’ suits this older age beauty perfectly. With her gorgeous facial markings that make her look a little bit like a pretty badger with a pink kiss on her nose, and those eyes lined with what looks like kohl pencil… it’s finally Bella’s time to find the person who thinks she’s beautiful.
After all those wasted years can we help Bella find her Happily Ever After?

Type of Home Sought
Bella is looking for a home, where she is loved. With someone who is willing to allow her time to settle and adapt to UK life. She would like a garden to sniff around and relax in.
She could live with other dogs and cats.
As her rescuer says, ‘we believe she will settle in any household; she doesn’t require long walks and she is just happy to potter around. She has a sunny disposition, and will make someone very happy.’
