Character
Hugo’s lots of good things but photogenic isn’t one of them. When he sees the camera he does his awkward mournful face and looks wooden and unsure of himself. Hugo! (eye roll) So frustrating! This boy deserves so much attention but doesn’t get noticed.
Born 2018, fully sighted, 15kg and currently in foster in Serbia, Hugo is our under-the-radar all-rounder, our best kept secret.
Why? Because Hugo’s got it all: friendly, affectionate, loves a fuss, loves people, active, healthy, fully sighted, neutered, good with dogs, has lived in a house and is house trained, and walks beautifully on a lead.
The photography might not be the best, but Hugo has flip-flop ears, a cinnamon coat and a gingery look to his nose and eyes that give him a kind appearance and reserved but unruffled air. He doesn’t show off his tail much, being camera shy, but it’s a proper curly floof. And he has a lovely gingery grin, when you get to see it.
Hugo’s past was extremely unpleasant. Before rescue, he lived most of his life on the end of a chain. This meant living outdoors in extreme heat and cold, and a life of severe deprivation, with little safety or interaction. Hugo was identified for rescue, but the owner disallowed it for some time.
It was not until Hugo was found with a severe eye injury that he was removed to safety and received veterinary treatment. Thankfully Hugo’s sight was unaffected. (Photographs of Hugo’s past are on the website.)
Having wasted so much time unable to go anywhere, Hugo would love to go for walks and explore a bit of the world. He’s an adaptable dog that will fit in most places, so please do give him a share and don’t let his camera-shyness hold him back!

Type of Home Sought
Hugo would love a home with a garden, where he has to freedom to safely run around. After years living on a chain he would like to go out for walks to explore the world.
Our adoption donation is £325. This includes travel to the UK, their vaccinations, pet passport, microchip and all preparation for travel. They also come with 5 weeks free insurance (excluding The Channel Isles & Isle of Man).
