Character
Bertie, or Bertie Tobias to give him his full name is a distinguished gentleman around 10 years old. Bertie is partially sighted and weighs 14 kgs. He is in good health, is neutered and is currently in Romania.
Bertie’s story is a sad one – his owner died and a friend took him in, but then suffered a stroke, so Bertie found himself out on the street. He was taken to the safety of a private shelter, but that’s no place for an older boy who is looking for a quiet place for his golden years.
Bertie is very kind and gentle. He’s friendly with people and enjoys being around them. He likes to have cuddles and kisses. Bertie is happy to go for short walks and then have a snooze. Like many older dogs he likes to sleep a lot. While Bertie may not have lived in a home before, he's a happy boy who quickly learns to adapt to new places he lives in.
Bertie is good with cats and dogs. Initially he can be reserved with other dogs, probably due to his sight loss, but soon becomes sociable.
Bertie is hoping his story has a happy ending – a person to call his own, a soft bed to sleep in, some cuddles and a full belly. In return he will give you loyalty, companionship and love.
Please note - we do not rehome dogs to families with children under the age of 10.
